“1 2 3, Surprise!” is a playful picture book with flaps designed to help children practise counting and discover the world of numbers, with a surprise on each page.
Each spread features a large number on the left-hand side. On the right, an illustration hides another image under a flap. The book aims to encourage observation, curiosity and storytelling through illustration and interactive play.

Creative approach
The creative challenge in designing this book for the 'Surprise' series was to create fun and surprising scenes in which children can count objects.
For example, showing one balloon alongside the number 10 could be misleading, but when you lift the flap, ten balloons appear, lifting a little bear from the ground to the sky. This surprise is undeniably fun!
